The Owner Says
Robbie is our 1966 split-screen VW campervan with a "Dormobile" lift up roof. He has been providing holiday and wedding hires for Rainbow Camper Hire since 2015.
Robbie's full width back seat folds flat to create a double bed while his roof space has canvas bunks suitable for children between 4 and 12. He can seat 5 and sleep 4. The back seat has 2 x 3 point seatbelts suitable for child seats plus a lap belt in the middle.
Despite his compact size, Robbie sports a 2 ring gas hob, sink with pumped cold water, an electric cool box and all the pots, pans and utensils necessary for a great camping trip. A leisure battery powers cabin lights and a mains hook up provides regular 240v sockets plus USB charging points.
We can allow one small or medium size dog in Robbie - please ask as dogs come a wide size range and space is limited at night. Online booking is available for self-drive hires; for chauffeured wedding hire please email us for a quote.

Penrith is the nearest train station, on the West Coast Mainline. There are hourly buses from the station to Keswick (X4 and X5). the Rainbow Campers team can collect you from the nearest bus stop. If there are four or more in your group a taxi can be economic – booking in advance from Davies Taxis in Keswick (017687 72676) is cheaper than taking one from the station rank.
Alternatively, there is safe, free parking at our base here in Keswick for one car per campervan.
