A trio of awesome vintage campervans ready for exploring Snowdonia and beyond

Based in the heart of one of the UK's most dramatic landscapes, Snowdonia Classic Campers offers adventurers a choice of three retro campervans for the North Wales roadtrip of a lifetime. Bessie, Nell and Poppy are original dubs from the early 1970s and come complete with pop-top roofs, rock and roll beds, plus interior living area and kitchenette (with gas stove and sink).

From their base near Pantglas (where you can also leave your own vehicle free-of-charge), these cool campers are perfect for exploring the wild beauty of Snowdonia National Park. Besides the various Cool Camping-approved campsites with amazing mountain views, Snowdonia is brimming with charming settlements like Betws-y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog. The latter is home to the historic Llechwedd Slate Caverns, now an award-winning attraction and host of Zip World. Further west, the breathtaking beaches of the Llŷn Peninsula await. Be sure to visit the sailing mecca of Abersoch, the peculiar Italianate village of Portmeirion (home to Festival Number 6), and the famous beachside-pub Ty Coch Inn at Porthdinllaen beach.

Bessie is a right-hand drive, 1974, late Bay campervan, with her pop-up roof she's lots of standing room and ample sleeping space. Bessie loves nothing better than touring the highest passes in Snowdonia and taking in the spectacular views of Snowdon's peak, the highest mountain in Wales (higher than any in England) at 3,560 feet.
